The league will follow the current Hockey Canada Rulebook, with the following exceptions:
3 Periods (2x10 & 1x12) – stop time.
Note: Running time is in effect for a differential of 5 goals in the last 5 minutes of the 3rd period (regadless of score after rule takes effect).No coincidental penalties. 4 on 4, 3 on 3, etc.
High stick on the ball - Stick making contact with the ball above the offending player's shoulder =blown down immediately and ensuing face-off in the offending team’s zone. No penalty.
Players can glove ball ahead only in their team’s zone.
Floating Blue Line. Once the attacking team gains the opposing blue line, the offensive zone expands to red line. If the ball clears the redline, team must regain the blue line.
Blue Line Icing (attacking team's own blue line). Note: If goalie leaves crease to play ball, icing will be immediately waived off.
No tape on bottom of stick blades (except for Goalies). No thin blades allowed for safety reasons.
All players – CSA Approved helmet and facemask.
If Goalie shoots ball over glass, no penalty as glass is not uniform around rink.
3 Minor Penalties for any player = Ejected from the game
No golf shots (hands together at top of stick). Warning only unles contact is made with opposing player on follow through.
Regular Season - No overtime - games will end in a tie (1 point each)
Playoffs - 10 minute sudden victory overtime periods repeated if necessary until winner is decided.Any Major Penalties or Game Misconducts – Write-Up on back of game sheet. League will decide if further disciplinary action will be taken.
No spectators are permitted behind the player's benches, Coaching staff only.
If a team doesn't have a goalie, the team is allowed to start the game with six players and no goalie. If less than 6 players, teams can not play and the timekeeper will start clock and award a goal. At the 5 minute mark, a second goal will be awarded and a third goal when the first period ends. If at that time there are not enough players then the game is over at 3-0.
